in season

Oh August... on one hand, your presence marks the dog days of Summer, where we treasure the last few weeks of the season (secretly looking forward to cozy Fall weather), but on the other hand – peaches. Peaches, peaches, and more peaches. Today I picked up a giant basket of these lovely gems from a co-worker who has a peach farm in the family. They lack the "cosmetic" spray which deals with those little freckles on the skin, which is definitely a bonus. There's simply no other fruit that captures Summer quite as sweet... sooo good.

Right now, there's peach crisp in the oven, as I scour the internet for other peach-related recipes... any favourites out there?

  2. Sadly, this years peach harvest hasn't been really good in Europe.
Maybe they will be better in a month. Peaches over here are more an early fall fruit.

You can always make a crisp/cobbler!

  6. I was at the market on Saturday and picked some up myself, although my parents have a tree in their garden...and the market was INSANE! So. Many. People. My favorite thing to do with peaches (which will be a post on my new blog)is yogurt parfait. Cut up peaches, greek yogurt (plain or vanilla), walnuts and a generous helping of chia seeds...toss all of it in a recycled jar (Bonne Maman jars are the perfect size) and take it to work...eat it at your desk and make your co-workers drool. Perfection! Love these photos! They capture summer goodness perfectly!

  8. Mmmmmm. Peaches. There's no better way to enjoy them than cut up in a bowl of milk.

  11. There is NOTHING as good as a homegrown peach! My boss's family have their own peach orchard and they are just the best. Juicy, sweet...pure summer.
