the unofficial start of summer...

While most people drive to a cottage up North, or camp out at the nearest provincial park for May 2-4, I spent this past weekend relaxing in the backyard under a shady tree. This is actually Rick's parents backyard, with towering trees and a small garden in the back. I literally read for hours and napped in the grass, not worrying about anything but taking it easy. Such a nice break! I'm looking forward to more blissful Summer moments in our own home this year... can't wait!

  2. I spent this last weekend at my parents' summer house, doing just that: relaxing, reading and enjoying good food in the garden. Beautiful photos!

  3. Oh I love summer days like that! The longer hours of daylight just make me want to soak it all up. Fresh air! Sunlight! A good book! I can't wait to finish my book! Maybe I can find a hammock somewhere!

    1. Rick has a hammock that stands alone, I wish I could have lifted the pieces down from the shed to set up, haha... next time!

    1. Thank you! Oh yes, I know all about that! My Granny and Aunt Mary in Scotland are always out sitting in the sun if it's a nice day... never know when it'll be raining again, lol.

  14. sounds like you had a very relaxing weekend :) rick's parents yard look very nicely maintained but you caught my attention with the red bunkie! did you and rick built this or his parents built it? is it used for storage or its an extra guest room?

    1. It's actually a shed! A really well-built could be a home shed, hahaha... looks like a mini house though!
