september sky...

You that moment when you're driving down a country road, just before the sun starts to set, when the light is perfectly right and the clouds are beautifully stretched across the sky?

I finally had my camera with me!

Photo: My own.

  1. This is breathtaking.

Before I relocated to Southern Illinois, I lived in a town called Smyrna, it's about 30 minutes south of Nashville, Tennessee. I'd drive down this road, Old Nashville Highway, to commute to and from work/school and home. It was a winding country road that passed little neighborhoods, beautiful cotton fields, a miniature pony farm, an apple orchard, a Civil War memorial cemetery, and even a radiant Buddhist temple! It was magical. And my heart aches for it.

This post reminds me of the beauty in those quiet moments where we've not quite made it where we're headed. And have some time to drink life in.

Do take more photos of your quiet moments!
